Welcome to Birendranath Sasmal Primary Teachers’ Training Institute. With nigardless endeavour of Mr. Mriganka Mouli Maity, Secretary of our College it is possible to establish a Teachers’ Training College after the name of the crownless emperor of Contai Sub-Division and the great freedom fighter named “Birendranath Sasmal” at Contai Municipality (ward no. VIII) in the year 2012 for the sake of building up competent Teachers in future who will be responsible for providing effective Teaching towards learners. Our college believes in the promotion of high standards of professional education of the teacher-educators. So that they can use their potential to play a critical role in the shaping the future of the society in which they live. Our college also seaks to nature talents, skills, creativity and leadership quality by providing multiple opportunities for experience-based learning. In a word, our college is recognised for providing an affordable education and responding to the professional needs and demands of the 21 st century workforce. 

In the year 2012, to meet the growing demand for trained teachers in qualitative development of Primary, Upper-primary, Secondary & Higher Secondary schools in West Bengal, at first I and our President Mr. Animesh Jana decided to open a new Self-financed Teachers’ Training College in Contai. A Trust is formed (namely Birendranath Educational Trust) to conduct the said Teachers’ Training College. Established after the noble name of Deshapran Birendranath Sasmal, the crownless emperor of Contai and the great freedom fighter, our College has been catering immensely to the needs of Teachers’ Training / Education of vast locality of Contai since its inception in 2012. Our college started functioning since the second Februaty, 2014, with the Recognition of NCTE, Government of India, vide memo no.- ERC/7-167.6.11/NCTE/D.El.Ed./2014/23569 dt. 30/01/2014. Then the college came under West Bengal Board of Primary Education and Vidyasagar University from the session 2014-15 & 2016-17 respectively. Our commitment is to maintain standards in the preparation of education professionals in contemporary educational systems. We are decided to provide updated knowledge-inputs and practical support to our Teacher-educators in order to build their confidence level high. Our main object is to equip teachers with the skills required to teach young children.

 As an inextricable part of this college, I and my colleagues have been endeavouring ceaselessly for the sake of making competent Teachers in future. With the means of easy and joyous manner we motivate our beloved students and trainees to  make themselves as holistic human beings as well as ideal teachers who will serve our society properly. Our auspicious mission is to inspire our trainee-teachers to follow Indian ethos and traditional culture and think themselves as a part of global arena and healthy milieu preserving integrity among communities irrespective of colour and creed.
